"Our total budget, for 2324 was about 4,180,000," the Public Works presenter said and reviewed operational highlights: approximately 677 paved lane miles under county care, about 4,500 miles of right‑of‑way mowing contracted, 3,700 road signs maintained, and 13.72 miles of county roads resurfaced during the past year. The presenter described fleet responsibilities (about 182 county vehicles), culvert replacements, ditch/ditch‑cleaning cycles, and training improvements. Commissioners commended staff for responsiveness, asked staff to prioritize pothole complaints and to work with DOT on SCOP re‑prioritization to account for an approximately $1.65 million shortfall driven by inflation on multi-year projects.
Staff will return with proposed SCOP project re‑ranking and updated cost estimates for DOT.
