She also expressed sympathy for victims of a school shooting elsewhere: she "sent deepfelt thoughts to the four families in Georgia whose children did not come home from school that day and the nine families whose children were in the hospital recovering from gun violence." Magee highlighted two upcoming events: the Coalition for Safe Schools and Communities Annual Breakfast on Sept. 30, and the Big Lift 2.0 Strategic Plan Launch on Sept. 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the County Center building.
Magee described the United for Youth Vision 2030 plan as a roadmap for addressing youth mental-health gaps over the next six years and characterized the events as cross-agency efforts to support student safety and well-being.
