Board approves agenda, minutes and consent items including Hispanic Heritage Month resolution

The San Mateo County Board of Education approved its Sept. 4, 2024 agenda after a motion by Board Member Beverly Gerard and a second by Board Member Susan Alvaro. The agenda passed 5-0 with two members absent (Chelsea Bonini and Ted Lempert).
The Board also approved the minutes of the Aug. 21, 2024 regular meeting by the same 5-0 margin. On the consent agenda the Board adopted Joint Resolution No. 24-42 recognizing Sept. 15–Oct. 15, 2024, as National Hispanic Heritage Month and Latino Heritage Month in the State of California; the consent agenda passed 5-0 with two absent members.
The votes and formal motions were recorded in the minutes: the agenda and minutes approvals and the consent resolution were each moved and seconded and adopted by votes listing the five members present (Alvaro, Camacho, Cannon, Gerard and Tones).
