"The HR implementation has been taking a little longer than expected," Mark explained, describing parallel payroll testing that has been run on the town side for three months and the plan to run school parallels in August before a Jan. 1, 2027 go‑live for the payroll module and employee self‑service portals. Staff and councilors said the additional consulting time will allow proper configuration, corrections and a clean calendar-year start in the new system; the resolution funding the change order from the PBV special revenue fund passed by voice vote.
Councilors discussed benefits such as consolidated town-and-school reporting, improved payroll budgeting tools and employee access to leave balances and benefit-cost transparency. Staff emphasized the importance of parallel testing to ensure pay accuracy before full cutover.
