Lynwood trustees approve CDBG request, pass two payroll disbursements and reappoint pension board member

On Feb. 24 the Village of Lynwood Board approved Resolution No. 26-04 requesting Illinois CDBG funds for 2026, authorized two large disbursements (BPM #1542 and #1543), and reappointed Michael Murry to the Police and Fire Pension Board; Resolution 26-05 was tabled.
The Village of Lynwood Board of Trustees on Feb. 24 approved Resolution No. 26-04, a request for Illinois Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for Program Year 2026. Trustee David Lilly moved the resolution and Trustee Sherri Dunlap seconded; the motion carried by roll call with Trustees Cynthia Eaves, David Lilly, Sherri Dunlap, Randall K. Blakey, Bryan D. Hurt and Kirk Marshall voting aye.
Trustee Cynthia Eaves moved and Trustee Sherri Dunlap seconded two finance disbursements: BPM #1542 for $265,602.05 (of which $196,161.25 was payroll) and BPM #1543 for $608,524.91 (of which $166,064.68 was payroll). Both motions passed by roll call with the same six trustees recorded as voting aye. Eaves also used her time to share public job and scholarship opportunities with residents.
The board also considered Resolution No. 26-05, a proposed Memorandum of Understanding with Cook County and Elevate Energy for participation in the Cook County Water Affordability Program; Trustee Lilly moved and Trustee Cynthia Eaves seconded to table the resolution, and the motion carried. No substantive vote on program participation occurred at the meeting.
Mayor Jada D. Curry asked the board to approve the reappointment of Michael Murry to the Police and Fire Pension Board; Trustee Sherri Dunlap moved, Trustee Kirk Marshall seconded, and the reappointment carried by roll call.
The meeting adjourned at 7:03 p.m.
