Resident urges Langley to require visible badge numbers on officers

During the public comment period Alexa Allemano urged the council to require law enforcement officers be identifiable by badge number and to be unmasked when interacting with the public.
"Alexa Allemano requested that Langley pass an executive order or ordinance requiring all law enforcement to be identifiable via their badge number and unmasked," Allemano said. Later in announcements Councilmember Craig Cyr expressed support for Allemano’s request, but the council did not take formal action at the Oct. 6 meeting to adopt an executive order or ordinance.
Another public commenter, Jim Soules, read from a written statement asking the City to reimburse an invoice tied to his appeal of the Generations Place application; the minutes record the comment but do not show a council response or formal follow-up assignment.
