Revitalization survey draws 300 responses; postal walking route under consideration; Pottstown regional plan updates reported

Assistant Manager David Thompson told the Agency the Revitalization Survey will run through March and that roughly 300 responses have been posted so far. He said the U.S. Postal Service is considering E. Philadelphia Avenue as a walking mail delivery route but that such a change would involve the postal union.
The Agency set the next Revitalization workshop for March 23, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. Members encouraged public participation in the online survey and noted that survey input will inform downtown revitalization and related decisions such as mailbox placement and delivery methods.
In regional planning updates, member Joe Richardson said December's Pottstown Metro Regional Planning Commission meeting was a two‑hour session largely focused on a proposed data center in Limerick and property acquisitions by the power company near the site. He also noted that a large development in New Hanover appears to be grandfathered and that the Montco 2050 rough draft is ready for review.
"So far there have been 300 opinions posted, and the post office is considering E. Philadelphia Avenue as a walking mail delivery route, however this would involve the union," the minutes report from staff stated. The Agency encouraged residents to participate in the survey ahead of the March workshop.
