Police report: 858 calls in December; three corporals sworn in

Chief Robert Evans presented the Douglass Township Police Department's December 2025 report, saying the department handled 858 calls for service in the month. Other December statistics recorded in the minutes include five reportable accidents, 11 non-reportable accidents, nine criminal investigations, 74 investigation supplements, three search warrants, one criminal arrest, 47 traffic citations and one non-traffic citation.
The Honorable District Justice Maurice Saylor administered the Oath of Office to Corporal Brent Ziegler, Corporal Daniel Castellucci and Corporal Mark Dykie; family members assisted in holding the Bible during the oath. Chief Evans also noted department participation in a "Shop with a Cop" event Dec. 17 and congratulated the newly promoted corporals for expected leadership impact.
The board accepted the police report as presented by motion vote during the meeting.
