Douglass Township accepts manager's resignation, names assistant as interim manager

The Douglass Township Board of Supervisors voted Jan. 20 to accept the resignation of Township Manager Andrew Duncan after 23 years of service and to appoint Assistant Manager David Thompson as interim manager.
Chairman Josh Stouch moved to accept Duncan's resignation and the motion passed with Bergstresser recused, Stouch voting aye and Carpenter voting aye. Immediately afterward the board voted unanimously to appoint David Thompson as interim manager. "He has worked for the Township for 23 years and regretfully accepts his resignation," Stouch said when announcing the letter; the board then completed the personnel actions in the same meeting.
In a related action the board asked Mr. Duncan if he would accept the appointments of zoning and codes officer and building code official; Duncan agreed and the board approved the appointment (Bergstresser recused). A public commenter, Ms. Orner, expressed gratitude for Duncan's service and said she was "glad that you are remaining with the Township." The board adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
