Lyon County Approves Mussel Survey at Rocky Ford Bridge; OKs Travel, Generator Bill

County Engineer Wayne Scritchfield asked the commission to approve a BioSurvey Group quote to perform a mussel survey at Rocky Ford Bridge and relocate any mussels found. The quote cited $17,568.15 for the survey and $7,137.43 per day for additional relocation, with an estimated total of $24,705.58 to be paid from Road & Bridge Special Bridge Fund 033-00-7601. The commission voted 3-0 to approve the work.
Scritchfield also requested authorization for himself and three staff to attend the MINK Conference in St. Joseph, MO on Sept. 24–25, 2025 with estimated registration/travel costs of $1,500 to be paid from the Road & Bridge Fund 011-00-7420. Separately, the commission approved a late-received bill to Cummins Sales and Service for generator repairs completed in September 2024 at the sign shop and round top shed totaling $10,131.23, to be paid from Special Road, Bridge, Machinery Fund 032-00-7600.
