Ryan Gumbart updated the Commission on bylaw-update work and said Jason Rasmussen had suggested working with a professional planner through a municipal planning grant. Gumbart recommended continuing with short-term interim fixes because applying for a municipal planning grant could be competitive and time-consuming.
Gumbart also listed problematic areas in the current bylaws that need attention and showed a map for an aquifer protection overlay district. Commissioners discussed next steps and agreed that interim bylaws should be addressed first while staff explores grant opportunities and prepares for eventual Town Plan implementation. "Jason Rasmussen had given him some suggestions to work with a professional planner through a municipal planning grant and that Mr. Rasmussen was willing to assist the Town in applying for such a grant," the minutes record.
