The commission approved a planned development to allow an office/retail/restaurant strip at 222 Bridal Lane with three‑sided architecture, patios and no drive‑throughs. Staff said the PD meets landscape and parking standards under the proposed ordinance language and that patios and pedestrian access are planned for the multiple street frontages.
Applicant Dacia Weber said the development's north end‑cap will be Smoothie King and the Dana Street end‑cap will be PJ's Coffee. "I have a franchise agreement with Smoothie King," Weber said remotely. Commissioners discussed traffic and whether a signal will be installed at Overlook/Avila in concert with an upcoming overpass; staff indicated a signal is planned in the area tied to overpass work but details were not finalized. The commission approved the PD by voice vote and adjourned the meeting.
