City staff told the Board of Aldermen they expect HVS and Baker Tilly to finish market and economic-impact work soon and to present results publicly in early August.
Alex Gerard asked the board and community to attend the upcoming presentation and listening sessions to provide feedback that will help shape design and scope. "Our plan is to hopefully have them here, to present these results publicly here in the next few weeks," he said. Staff expects community feedback between early August and Sept. 1 to inform the staff recommendation before the option deadline.
Gerard emphasized that the option agreement gives the city until Sept. 9 to decide on purchasing the 17-acre site and that staff will continue vetting costs and design options until that date. He said, if the city exercises the option, the next phase would be preliminary design and assembling a design/management team.
