Miranda reported the county issued an RFQ for annual engineering services and received 10 submittals, the most the county has received in recent cycles. A selection committee scored and ranked submissions and recommended awarding master contracts to six firms that together cover traffic, stormwater, transportation and site development specialties; Miranda said four contracts were ready for approval at this meeting and that they do not allocate funds until specific work orders and purchase orders are approved for individual projects.
A commissioner moved to approve the four finalized contracts and a second followed; the commission approved the motion by voice vote. Miranda said the contracts were reviewed and signed by the auditor and county counsel and that two remaining recommended firms were completing resubmittals before being brought forward for signature.
