City: Brick City phase one nearing occupancy; city to build sidewalk on Southeast 1st Avenue

Roberto Ellis said the Brick City project is phased and that the first building is expected to obtain its certificate of occupancy soon while the second building continues under construction. "They're looking to have their CO done on the 1st building," he said, and staff noted the city has committed to building the sidewalk along Southeast 1st Avenue as part of coordination with on-site activities.
Ellis added that streetscape improvements will accompany related projects such as the Brick City development and AC Hotel, and that the engineering department will lead design work for the sidewalk. Committee members asked about sidewalk width and encroachment issues; Ellis said liability and encroachment details are being ironed out with the developer.
