Ocala proposes nearly $14.8M in fleet purchases, including dozens of police vehicles

Haslam presented fleet recommendations totaling $14,804,905 in purchases for the coming fiscal year and said departments outside the general fund will program their own fleet needs. "Fleet is recommending $14,804,905 in purchases across the organization for next fiscal year," she said.
She reported public safety purchases include 52 vehicles and an XUV for police totaling roughly $3.7 million, and five vehicles plus a generator for fire totaling about $3.0 million. Council members acknowledged the proposals and were given an opportunity to ask department staff for further justification by model and replacement schedule.
