The San Pasqual Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees opened a public hearing on Title VII and Impact Aid at 6:58 P.M. on Oct. 14, 2025, seeking input from parents of Indian children, tribal officials, the Impact Aid Committee and other interested persons about equal participation of Indian students in district education programs. The board referenced BP 1270.2 and noted that the district’s Impact Aid Report 24.25 and the Indian Policy and Procedures (IPP) are available at the district office; the IPP is scheduled to be submitted to the board for approval in November.
Board President Cody Hartt asked that "Mr. Cordero meet with [the] tribe regarding [the] 1997 MOU," signaling a next-step engagement between district staff and the Quechan Tribe. The hearing was brief: trustees opened the floor for comment, received no extended public testimony on the item, and voted to close the hearing at 7:00 P.M. under the same motion structure used to open it.
