County IT staff presented two add-ons to make the county website and posted documents more accessible: an overlay tool (AudioEye) and a document-access conversion service to render PDFs text-searchable and screen-reader–friendly. Staff said the initial term would cost roughly $2,000 with an annual recurring service of about $9,126.60. As staff explained, "The annual recurring service is $9,126.60."
A motion to approve the website add-ons for Title 2 ADA compliance was made and seconded and the board voted to authorize the purchase. Staff described this as the first step toward broader accessibility work that will later include job applications and third-party apps; the board discussed the phased approach and the need to bring additional items back for future approval.
