Council tables $15,000 request to buy broadcast and video equipment for chambers

City staff asked the Alliance City Council to authorize a transfer not to exceed $15,000 from Council contingency funds to purchase broadcast and video equipment for the council chambers to improve livestreaming reliability and allow archiving of meetings. Finance Director Baker and City Manager J.D. Cox told the council that the existing system was unreliable and that staff believed in-house installation was feasible.
Vice Mayor Mashburn asked for additional information about the proposed purchase and installation plans. After discussion, the council voted to table Resolution No. 26-40 to allow staff to provide more specifics; the roll call to table was unanimous. Staff indicated they will continue evaluating equipment and streaming/archiving options and return with details at a future meeting.
