The Price County Forestry & Parks / Buildings & Grounds Committee approved timber sale bid awards for 21 tracts during its May 5, 2026 meeting. Forestry staff reported that 20 of the 21 tracts were sold and recommended acceptance of the awards.
Forestry and Parks Administrator Joe Grapa told the committee the department manages about 92,000 acres of county forest and that market conditions produced lower prices this year. Grapa said access to individual sale sites can materially affect the price bidders offer. Committee member Jordan Spacek moved to approve the awards; Michelle Drobnik seconded and the motion carried.
The committee did not provide a published tally of bids or individual sale proceeds during the meeting; the timber sale bid award records are on file with the Forestry and Parks Department.
