Councilors discussed replacing worn flags at city hall and debated price and country of manufacture before approving a purchase request for up to 200 flags.
Speaker 6 noted a U.S.-made option priced at about $19.99 and said he had found flags made in the United States; "I found 19 99 flags that are made in The United States," he said. Other members said inexpensive flags can quickly deteriorate, and the group agreed it was better to buy a modest number of higher-quality flags and replace tattered ones as needed.
The council agreed to authorize purchasing the proposed flags (up to 200) and asked staff to proceed with the specified vendor options and pricing. Staff will confirm final pricing and sourcing and proceed with the purchase.
