City staff presented routine departmental updates at the May 14 meeting.
Fire Department: reported that a Type 2 aircraft will be staged at Banks Lake Airport for the upcoming wildfire season; the volunteer fire department entered three trucks in the Colorama parade and responded to one call in April.
Law enforcement: recorded 30 calls for service in April, including nine property-crime incidents.
Public Works and Parks: spring clean-up concluded with no complaints; weed spraying, watering and other maintenance work is underway.
Engineering and water planning: TD&H staff, city staff and Coulee Playland concessionaires will meet in early June for site planning; the Water System Plan is roughly 75% drafted, hydrant-flow testing is complete and the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund application for waterline-replacement design was submitted on April 29, 2026. The council awaits funding decisions on the DWSRF application.
