The Alliance City Council on April 21 approved Resolution No. 26-35, levying a special assessment and lien of $20,184.38 on the real estate commonly known as 1207 W. 3rd Street. The minutes say the City Building Inspector cited violations of the 2018 International Property Maintenance Code during a May 12, 2024 inspection; the owner, DRD Hotels/Motels LLC, failed to abate violations or appeal. The City then boarded the structure and incurred $20,184.38 in costs, which the resolution authorizes to be recorded as a lien under Neb. Rev. Stat. § 18-1722(1), IPMC § 106.3 and Alliance Municipal Code § 105-181.
The resolution directs the City Clerk to certify the special assessment to the Box Butte County Clerk for collection and allows recording in the county Register of Deeds; the council approved the resolution by unanimous roll call.
