DeSoto FFA officer and advisor describe leadership takeaways from State FFA convention

Courtney, an FFA advisor, opened the student presentation by describing State FFA convention as a busy week that brings together students from across Florida; she noted the event features guest speakers and opportunities to meet other county chapters. "Like, last year, governor DeSantis came, and he was our keynote speaker for the 1st session," Courtney said when explaining why the week is meaningful for students.
Stacy Fussell, who identified herself as "a current officer of the DeSoto senior FFA chapter" and as a voting delegate, said the convention offers leadership workshops focused on communication, teamwork and personal growth and allows students to represent DeSoto County across the state. "It was a great experience to see how much work goes into leading the organization and interact with thousands of members across the state," Fussell said, and she thanked advisors, the district and the community for support.
