Price County’s Administration Committee reviewed a draft policy May 12, 2026 that would regulate County employees’ use of smart glasses and other wearable recording devices. Staff characterized the proposal as an employee-focused rule rather than a public-facing restriction. On a motion by Joe Baratka, seconded by Paula Houdek, the committee voted to advance the policy for handbook inclusion; the motion carried.
Committee members noted the policy was brought forward as a precaution and that there had been no current issue with employees recording with smart glasses. The committee did not adopt final handbook language at the meeting; it voted to move the draft forward for subsequent consideration and incorporation into handbook verbiage.
