Council members told the workshop they expected the city's accounting bill to be roughly $1,000 per month but found invoices showing charges rose to about $1,200 in March. One member said the council had already paid roughly $9,450 between October 2025 and April 2026 and that the current $13,000 budgeted amount will likely be exceeded if the higher rate continues.
"They went from 1,000 a month to 1,200," a council member said when reviewing financials. After discussing a $2,000 additional invoice billed in January for "services rendered" related to records requests, the council moved to withhold payment until the vendor justifies the additional time and provides an itemized invoice.
