Daly City accepts completion of RO 572 streetlight conversion around Westlake Shopping Center

Chan said the work replaced antiquated high‑pressure sodium fixtures with LED fixtures and moved the circuit wiring from older series configurations to parallel circuits so individual outages no longer darken entire runs of lights. The project covered approximately 38 streetlights surrounding the Westlake Shopping Center. Staff said funds for the work were available in the transportation CIP project account (21767400).
Council members thanked staff for the long‑running effort to replace obsolete equipment; one member noted the change should reduce maintenance costs and outage durations. The council voted to accept the notice of completion.
