EDC members discussed ways to strengthen the visual and pedestrian appeal of PO Square. Rob Maidman urged members to "think about PO Square being the focal point of town," and suggested planters and other small improvements; he also noted that buildings up to the former yoga studio are considered historically significant on the outside.
David Straus asked whether there are design guidelines for a proposed bench at 23 Pond Street; Maidman said the Planning Board generally does not get into that level of detail. Chair Hy Waxman said he is trying to reach the Heights Plaza landlord, and Cheryl Rosenfeld said she will visit the new fitness center that replaced the yoga studio to introduce the EDC.
