EDC chair named to library reuse committee as Select Board opens 30-day due diligence

Hy Waxman, chair of the Town of Sharon Economic Development Committee, told members the Select Board appointed him as the EDC representative to the Library Reuse Committee, with David Straus serving as alternate. "The Select Board appointed me as the EDC representative to the Library Reuse Committee," Waxman said.
Waxman said the Select Board moved the library property matter into a 30-day due-diligence phase with a construction-company RFP respondent but has not ruled out a daycare proposal. Committee members were not asked to vote on the appointment at the June 1 meeting; Waxman described the update as an informational report and said he will report back as the Select Board’s due-diligence period progresses.
