During the hearing, resident Terri A. Silvas told the court that "nothing has changed from the last meeting," reflecting continued public concern about the proposal. Another attendee, Irma Menchaca, urged the court against raising taxes and instead asked leaders to pursue strategies to attract more businesses to the county.
Commissioners — Eric Ramos, Eduardo "Eddie" Garza, Rolando Gutierrez, Nora Salinas and Aaron Trevino — discussed the rates and raised concerns but did not vote to adopt a rate during the session. The court closed the public hearing after questions and comments.
