Buildings staff report 191 work orders closed in June; five exceeded 45 days

Frank Lord presented the district—uildings and grounds work-order completion report for May 29 to June 30 and highlighted the program's monthly totals and priority breakdowns. "The June general overview is 191 completed work orders, 5 work orders with a completion date after 45 days," Lord said.
Lord explained most items that exceeded the 45-day window were scheduled summer projects and not emergent repairs. He described the district's priority coding and said the June priority ratio was "0 low, 190 medium, and 1 high." When asked whether entries showing "HVAC" referred to unit replacements, Lord clarified: "This is actually referring to filter replacements of the rooftop rooftops, not the the rooftops themselves." He also addressed classroom lighting, estimating "definitely less than 20%" of classrooms still have fluorescent lighting and that larger bank replacements are scheduled during summer breaks.
The report included notes on several specific work orders: replacement of nightlock shades, drywall repairs tied to summer projects, removal of damaged playground sets, and disposal of old textbooks. Committee members asked for clearer shorthand in work-order descriptions to make financial tracking and operational decisions easier. Lord said the team is separating summer capital jobs from routine maintenance work orders to avoid skewing response-time metrics.
The committee did not identify safety threats in the highlighted items and accepted the report for review. The buildings and grounds staff attached a detailed work-order report to the meeting record for committee members to review.
