Council accepts election canvass, swears in new council members

After the canvass, the county judge administered the oath of office to the newly elected council members. The mayor then called for the appointment of a mayor pro tem; TJ Goss was elected by the council to serve a one‑year term. "Ramon Rodriguez had 225 votes received, and he was elected by 58.9% of the vote," the mayor said when announcing results. The council recorded the formal votes and completed the swearing‑in during the meeting.
