David Danforth, BTEMS director, told the Williamstown Selectboard on Oct. 13 that the ambulance service has handled "372 calls to date." He said call volume is "a little busier than last year at this time," and staff have added a van-style vehicle to transport non-emergency patients.
Danforth said average response time is "running 8 minutes, down ½ minute from last year," and that BTEMS is working on the budget projection with the goal of keeping funding at last year's level. The report did not include a detailed staffing or cost breakdown.
The Selectboard did not vote on any changes to BTEMS funding at the meeting; the director said staff will present budget details during upcoming budget sessions.
