At the public‑comment period, Jocelyn Scott introduced a new pilot called Hello Sunshine, which pairs older adults (60+) with younger adults in their 20s for an eight‑week program focused on connection, mentorship and wellness.
Scott described program activities — daily check‑ins, workshops, shared meals and wellness programming — and said success would be measured by participation and feedback. She asked the council for help securing city spaces, aligning partner organizations, and endorsements to expand access. Scott noted the Eisner Foundation and the Foundation for Aging among funders that support intergenerational initiatives; staff directed her to meet Assistant City Manager Quasi Obeng after the meeting for follow‑up.
"Hello Sunshine is an 8 week pilot program," Scott said during her remarks. Her time expired before extended discussion.
