Council approves consent calendar including brownfield application, runway lighting change order and CivicPlus software transfer

The Alliance City Council unanimously approved the Consent Calendar at its June 2 meeting, adopting several routine and capital items in a single vote. The motion to approve was made by Councilman Hitchcock and seconded by Vice Mayor Mashburn; the roll call vote recorded Hitchcock, Turman, Mashburn and Mayor John McGhehey voting aye.

Items approved include payroll in the amount of $411,132.89 and claims totaling $1,567,513.04; an update to the Alliance Volunteer Fire Department roster; and multiple resolutions (26-42 through 26-47). Among the consent items, Resolution No. 26-44 authorized Change Order No. 1 for the Alliance Municipal Airport Runway 12/30 and 8/26 Lighting Project, increasing the contract by $21,289.09 to a new total of $3,287,966.69. Resolution No. 26-45 authorized a $40,000 capital budget transfer to replace the Community Development permitting system with CivicPlus. Resolution No. 26-47 authorized a $6,400 transfer from City Council contingency for the purchase of (6) iPads and accessories.

City Manager Cox and City Finance Director Baker told the council they had reviewed the listed expenditures and "to the best of their knowledge confirm that they are within budgeted appropriations to this point in the fiscal year." The consent vote bundled these actions for efficiency; individual items may be pulled for separate consideration at a councilmember's request in future meetings.
