Council delays vote on camping and storage ordinance as stakeholder group continues review

Deputy City Manager Bridal De Profio told council staff had established a stakeholder group to review the ordinance presented at an earlier meeting and that the group first met Sept. 2 and will meet again Oct. 7. “Their work is continuing,” De Profio said, explaining staff recommended deferral until the stakeholder group finishes its work. A council member moved to defer the ordinance, the motion was seconded and recorded as carried by council voice vote.
The deferral keeps the item on the agenda for future action once stakeholders return recommendations; no policy change was adopted at the Sept. 24 session.
