Commission approves grass-marker design for one request and limits Lasell lot to grass markers for four cremation burials

The Williamstown Cemetery Commission approved a grass-marker design submitted by Mr. Quintin and told him he may proceed with fabrication. Commission member Susan Lyons circulated the design at the Sept. 25 meeting and the board approved it.
Separately, a family member (Elizabeth Bicknell) asked if four additional cremation-only burials could be placed on the John Lasell lot in East Hill Cemetery. Joe Mangan measured the area roughly and said he believes there is room. Commissioners agreed to permit four cremation-only interments on that lot but limited the markers to grass markers only and directed staff to list the four names in the lot file.
"Mr. Quintin dropped off the design for his grass marker that he would like to get approval for. The design was passed around and the Board approved," Lyons said. The commission did not broaden marker-size rules; it explicitly limited the Lasell lot to grass markers for the added cremation burials.
