Catherine, representing Gunter Volunteer Fire Rescue, presented the monthly activity report, saying the department responded to 23 calls this month โ a lower-than-usual total โ and that call types were about evenly split between fire and EMS, compared with a historic 70/30 mix. "It highlights 23 calls this month, which is a unusually lower number for us," she said.
Catherine also said personnel have completed training and that the department obtained a $10,000 grant intended to purchase training props to improve on-site training scenarios. She explained one of the planned props is a "Denver training prop window," a specific-size opening built to a recognized specification for firefighter training exercises.
