City staff say Gunter drawing retail interest; county demographic study underway

A staff director said brokers and retailers are showing active interest in Gunter, and commercial recruiters are asking about rooftops and local demographics. "Everybody knows that we had the BNSF groundbreaking," the director said, and later described Gunter as "the next frontier" for retail interest.
The director said Grayson County is conducting a demographic assessment and requested local input; the NPO has asked for data that Gunter ISD has not yet provided. Staff said they are compiling exhibits and working with county consultants and school-district officials so the interactive map and projections better reflect on-the-ground population and housing conditions. Planning staff also said they are preparing zoning submittals for BNSF-related work that will go to PNZ next month.
