The Goose Creek planning commission voted to recommend annexation of a Beverly Drive parcel (TMS 23513400045) into the city with a zoning assignment of Residential Single Family (RSF). Kendra, the city staff member presenting the item, said the parcel is "approximately 0.381 acres" and is currently vacant; staff recommended approval.
Staff told commissioners the applicant, Isis Marcos De Dutra, was unable to attend due to a family emergency. Commissioners discussed that the parcel could be divided into two lots consistent with adjacent lot sizes and noted apparent encroachment issues where an adjoining parcel and a fence may cross the property line. One commissioner asked whether annexation would increase city service costs; staff said the parcel would need city water if developed, a factor in utility planning and return on investment.
Motion: a commissioner moved to annex the parcel and assign RSF zoning; the motion was seconded and recorded as carried. The commission approved the recommendation to move the annexation forward; staff will process next steps and the public hearing was noted as forthcoming.
