Garfield County approves amendment to 911 interlocal to retain higher share of fees

The Garfield County Board on July 27 approved the Third Amendment to the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement among the City of Enid, Garfield County and Major County to adjust how 911 fees are retained and used. Member Joe Kegin Jr. moved to approve the amendment; the motion passed with Commissioners Clarence Maly, Reese Wedel and Joe Kegin Jr. voting "Aye."
The minutes state the amendment permits the counties to retain an increased percentage of their 911 fees to pay for certain employees and training. The action was recorded as a unanimous approval. The interlocal change will require coordination with the City of Enid and Major County under the amended agreement.
