Patrolman Louis Notaire was recognized at a Jackson Township Police Department ceremony marking his retirement after more than two decades of service. A department citation recounted his hire in August 2002, attendance at the Ocean County Police Academy, varied patrol assignments, an investigation in February 2004 that led to an arrest and lengthy sentence, and community work including the Police & Fire Annual Toy Drive (the citation said the drive accommodated "almost 120 children" last year). The citation recorded his honorable discharge effective June 2026.
Notaire spoke about his time as a West Side patrol officer, the value of foot patrols and building relationships with residents, and the pride he takes in department community efforts. He praised coworkers and command staff and said, "It's been a pleasure and an honor to serve the residents of Jackson Township for the past 24 years." A union shadow box presentation followed his remarks.
