Staff told the council the city is complying with water restrictions from secondary water providers (Weaver Basin and Pineview) and said the city has been asked to reduce water consumption on city properties by roughly 20%. "We are being asked to reduce our water consumption for our own properties by 20%, and we will be complying with that," a staff member said. The city plans to use xeriscaping and water-wise landscaping in less active areas and will publicize available rebates to residents.
Separately, staff said the city center plan process continues and that a joint session with the Planning Commission that was tentatively scheduled for May 26 may be rescheduled because consultants are unavailable; public outreach results will feed the next plan iteration. Staff urged residents to watch city communications for the revised meeting date.
