The Sweetwater County Board of Commissioners approved Memorial Hospital lab project expenditures after removing the item from the consent agenda for separate consideration. The motion to approve was moved and seconded; the vote carried with one abstention.
During the vote the Chair said, "I'm going to abstain as although that funding isn't directly to the place in which I'm employed, it does funnel down through there through that general contractor." Commissioners Richards and Slaughter handled the motion and second; the board approved the expenditures by voice with the Chair abstaining. No additional discussion was recorded.
