Council approved Ordinance No. 33-2024 on Dec. 23 to adopt a labor agreement with the Ohio Patrolmen's Benevolent Association.
Law Director Mr. Szeman told council that "the tentative agreement ('Exhibit 1') was not included in the council packet" because it had not been available for an executive session at the prior meeting. Council moved to amend the ordinance by adding the tentative agreement as Exhibit 1; the amendment, a suspension of rules and final passage were all approved on roll call (5 yeas). Mayor Britton said he was "happy with the agreement."
The minutes do not include the terms of the agreement; the law director noted the exhibit was added to the ordinance on the floor. The labor agreement’s substantive terms and any budgetary impacts are recorded in the added exhibit rather than the meeting minutes themselves.
