San Patricio County court approves minutes, pays bills and transfers funds to sheriff's prisoner housing

Commissioner Yardley moved to approve the minutes and another commissioner seconded; the motion carried after the judge called for the ayes. Gillespie moved to pay the bills; that motion also carried unanimously. The court then approved a transfer from contingency into the sheriff's prisoner-housing line to cover anticipated summer costs.
The judge said the transfer reflects short-term needs and that "we're gonna revisit at the end of summer into September and then look at it again," noting the FY2027 budget will include a substantial increase for that line. The court approved the transfer without recorded roll-call tallies.
Treasurer Jackie presented financial figures during the meeting: "Today's health transfer is 299,000," and she reported the June 2026 sales tax as "$424.10." The court voted to accept the treasurer's report.
The court's actions were taken by voice votes during the meeting; no individual roll-call vote tallies were read into the record.
