Late in the meeting the sheriff reported that Texas Parks and Wildlife contacted him about basing aircraft at the county hangar in Ingleside. He said Ben Baker, a longtime San Patricio County resident now with TPW, has been involved in outreach and that TPW staff are willing to visit the hangar, introduce equipment and discuss the arrangement.
The sheriff said the county has not had aircraft based locally in more than 10 years, and that restoring aircraft capability would complement existing drone assets while addressing drone limitations in windy conditions. No formal action or funding request related to the hangar was taken during the meeting.
