County engineer: GLO-backed Sinton and Taft drainage projects begin after easement work

The county engineer told commissioners that after roughly six months of preparatory work and easement resolution, clearing and staking have begun on the GLO-funded Sinton and Taft drainage projects. “They already began clearing and grabbing, prepping the site. They got the stakes out and also marked out the easements,” the engineer said.
The engineer said the Sinton project north of U.S. 181 is anticipated to begin the coming Monday with Taft to follow, adding that work is weather dependent and targeted for completion by the end of the year. He credited county staff and the GLO contract administrator for resolving layered easement issues that delayed earlier progress.
