San Patricio County Commissioners Court authorized the county auditor to issue a request for proposals June 1 to secure third‑party administration for medical and dental plans, pharmacy benefit management, repricing and care navigation services. County Auditor Patrick Kiesnick told the court talks with the current vendor (named in the transcript as Scentivo) are ongoing, but the county is moving forward with an open procurement.
"Right now, we're, running continuous talks with Scentivo," Patrick said. "They're going through a, they're gonna have multiple check runs per week... they're working through the claims and doing the repricing." He added the county is going out for bids "to basically go out and get a new, insurance, person there for that."
Commissioners discussed the need to restore reliable service to employees after problems with the prior administrator; the court directed the auditor to proceed with the RFP. The motion to approve the RFP was moved and seconded on the record and recorded as carrying.
The court did not specify contract length, estimated annual cost, or a target vendor on June 1; the auditor will receive proposals and return to the court with recommendations.
