Council removes AI policy from closed session, limits closed discussion to 'emerging threats'

Council member Rayner objected that updated staff materials were emailed at 1 p.m. the same day and said that the council had ``no opportunity to look at it to see what the changes are,'' arguing the public and council needed more time. After a friendly amendment to strike the AI policy, the amended motion — to go into closed session only to discuss emerging threats — passed 6–1 on a recorded vote.
